News & Information Education landscape in Asia

News and information education includes elements of media literacy, digital literacy, journalism studies, and fact-checking. It is a diverse field.

In order to inform and support possible approaches that could be taken by the Asian Network of News & Information Educators (ANNIE), from July to August in 2021, Love Frankie conducted this research.

‍

It has made a conscious effort to take into account the elements that are specific to the political and media landscape within each country in our region.

‍

Through a literature review and and an analysis of interviews with 13 educators in Asia, this report identifies various challenges that educators face and suggests possible approaches taken to tackle them.
